Mondrian Structure

Prof. Thomas Bayrle asked me to collaborate for a project. Taking a Mondrian painting as a source, he had built a monochrome 3Dimensional cardboard model with loops of different width, that weave in one another. Knowing my work and field of interest, he asked whether I could develop film project on the basis of his model. I worked out a complex “work sketch”, trying to tackle the task with numbers, calculations, charts. I constructed a complex Film and sound script. This script never got filled with life. The structure itself became the work.
